Um, this thread is titled "views on the american south". I doubt eatmybishop shares those views any more than xe shares the views presented in the thread about American views on the English.

...or Montgomery, Alabama where Rosa Parks started the bus boycott, or Little Rock, Arkansas where Orval Faubas tried to prevent African American children from attending public school, because these places are now strongholds of African American culture despite your ignorant postulation that the American south is entirely racist...

BTW - that obviously referred to eatmyignorance and not Kirksey.
I've lived in the south most of my life and it is not the same south of the 60's. The diivides that are in place now I think are more economic and not so much racial. I don't deny it exists, but I will bet most major cities in the south have had a black or Latino mayor in the past 20 years.

Right - so i start a thread "NAZI's views about Jews" and spread BS stereotypes and nonsense - is that ok? It doesn't matter if you actually share the views - as long as you propagate the rhetoric you are propagating the stereotype. As long as there is some teenage moron who laughs at this, there will be another idiot that gets told the joke, and another idiot who believes it. Racism and racist propaganda shouldn't be allowed to be spread in a community that includes people who might feel that it is an attack on them.

If you started the thread in debates, i'm not so sure it would look out of place 😛

Don't check with me. Check it out with your girlfriend. Am I still in the doghouse with her?

That was sort of my point - the places that were racists biggest strongholds are now places where you find the greatest support and understanding of black culture.

Excuse me. That's a euphemism for "being out of favor." We use that expression a lot in marriage and in the south.

Bringing stereotypes out in the open is completely different from propagating them. I see it as a stab at the people propagating them, and if it's funny, it's because those stereotypes are so ridiculous.
