... and not a drop to drink. Dunno if you heard about the flood we have going on over here in the UK, mostly in the north. Ironically I'm in the south and we've been without water for 2 days now (some generator issue or something)
1st time I've ever been without, ya don't know how much you miss something until ya don't have it.
Ah well, guess we'll just have to live off beer and wine down in the pub
Originally posted by SPDChessWe are experiencing severe flooding right now in the southwestern US. So far 32 people have died and it is still storming and flooding. It seems there is no moderation....either drought or floods. Good luck to you in your situation. I suffered through a severe flood 4 years ago when I had 4 feet of water inside my house. Lost everything including new car, all appliances and furnishings and a place to live. But you pick yourself up and start again and be thankful for the chance to do so.

Between, drought and flooding, tornadoes and hurricanes, earthquakes and massive forest fires, not to mention the hail and snowstorms and the heatwaves. We got'em all covered. Wow, hadn't heard about the US flooding. Been 4 deaths, I think, here so far and the same as US, more rain and more problems expected.
When Mother nature speaks, everybody listens

If you want to go on about buildings, quit buying cars, clothes, food, cigarettes, and anything else you buy because they are produced in buildings. Hello? You have to clear land to build buildings and houses and airports and shipyards, schools, Opera houses, theaters, etc... If you don't use them and you want to live in the rain forest, don't let the door hit you in your ass on the way down there. Otherwise, figure out a better solution, stop spouting about about the problems. Too many people spend their time griping about everything, but they have no clue how to fix the problem, or the brains to figure out that , while this may be a problem, it is better than the alternative.
Alright, go ahead and inform me of the benefits of digging up rock and mowing down trees to erect never-ending structures on each available square inch of land.

I don't claim to be any less guilty of using and abusing our natural resources, and certainly won't be toting my family to the forest to eat bugs and run around in loincloths. I recycle, and am currently boycotting chinese products. When I get sick of that I'll move onto something else. I'm not expecting any solutions in these forums, simply stating that I believe things are at an unbalance, and wouldn't be surprised if the theory is true that humans are the genital crabs on the surface of earth, and natural disasters are earth's equivalent to a lice comb and a hot shower.
