The post that was quoted here has been removedI tested positive for TB right after college. I worked in a hospital, and they tested all of us periodically.
While they found no evidence of TB (only the antibodies) The doctor recommended I go on a 6-month regimen of antibiotics just to be safe. I was poor, and living in the city, so I chose the state-sponsored cheap route. Once, every couple of weeks, I had to take a bus into the TB ward of a ghetto hospital to get my free meds. It was one of the most depressing places on the planet. Everyone in the filthy waiting room was hacking and coughing. I remember thinking to myself, "...if I didn't have TB before, I must surely have it now."
