Heartland, 'I loved her first'

I don't often listen to C&W but this one has acoustic fiddle, nice song.

Bonnie and Richard:

Bonnie handed my daughter Heather her first degree at Berklee in Boston, where Bonnie was getting an honorary degree herself.

I really like this song and version written by Richard Thompson

Dimming of the Day.

Ali Bain and Phil Cunningham, I was lucky to have met them both and produced Phil in Scottsdale. Phil and his band Silly Wizard stayed at our house for the gig and I came home from work, I see these guys jumping off our back porch into our swimming pool, I was going, who the heck is that🙂 Just Silly Wizard🙂

Anyway here is Aly and Phil together:

And Phil's beautiful composition, also with Aly, "The gentle light that wakes me'

If you don't find this beautiful you are hopeless

Aly Bain, Jerry Douglas, Micheal Doucet, Sharon Shannon, wow! Cajun at its best!

"La Danse De La Vie"

Some fine guitar picking and singing: Will Kimbrough

"Hill Country Girl"

Some country rock, Steve Earle, "Copperhead road" Moonshine V sheriff🙂

Bob Douglas 100th birthday, fiddling away:

Some more old timey fiddle, Vivian and Phil Williams do an impromptu session, nice fiddling! Phil doing simple but effective guitar backup. You get the feeling they have been doing this for SEVERAL months🙂

An experiment: Attempt to combine youtube and soundcloud here:

Nope, no good.

Try this

https://soundcloud.com/search?q=boiled%20in%20lead

Boiled in Lead folk group.

That worked but there is another Lead thing in top of group, Boiled starts second track down,

Anna Roberts-Gevalt on fiddle and Joe Derjarnette on Martin F style guitar.

She is playing 'the cat came back'.

She is a joy just to watch!

Found some more of her and Elizabeth singing a song 'Won't you come and sing for me'

Anna is great on guitar also! The same Martin F style, Elizabeth on banjo

Little Black Train

Wow, this is a Woody Guthrie: here are the lyrics

Interesting, they really changed the song around.
