Do you think you can just decide one day to "turn gay"?
This must be why you idiots on the right think a gay person can just decide to "not be gay" anymore. "Conversion therapy" (also called "reparative therapy" ) is a bald-faced lie that has destroyed many lives and has cost the US economy billions.

I don’t believe being gay is entirely genetic. Not even close, imo.
I think someone’s sexual orientation is largely determined in the few years before they enter puberty.
If you put a boy in all boys’ school (or girl in an all girls’ school) in the years before they enter puberty and they become interested in or curious about sex and experiment with sex on classmates and friends from that school, I think they’ll more than likely become gay (or at least bisexual) - certainly more so than if they were in coed schools.
No one should assert being gay is genetic until they can prove it at the genetic level. As far as I know, they can’t.

And this is another side-trip: I haven't looked into it, but I'm curious to know if people who undergo hormone therapy for the sake of a gender-transition or whatever reason notice that it has an influence on their radar of attraction.
