I don't think this falls under a case of another user jumping in and alerting what was said, unless the edited text falls under another rule of the forums like swearing, or harassment... etc.

Let's say XNZ edited something, and the other guy didn't care. No foul. This is no excuse for you to be able to edit what you like just because another user was not banned.
