When I worked in a Manchester clothes factory a lot of the workers were only over from Pakistan for work, so really different cultural values to the local community. There were permanent footprints on the seat and a jug of water instead of toilet role. I was talking to a Manchester Pakistani friend about it and he commented that I should hear what they thought of westerners: wanting to sit on the thing; putting their backside in contact with a toilet and then smearing their excrement on to paper. Funny how the world looks through different eyes.

as teenagers we would smear peanut butter on public restroom toilet seats
I've been thinking of doing it again
