My prof is in love with Springsteen and made us listen to some songs in class. Should I report him for emotional infringement?
I am sure it will help your marks if you do that! 😉

All I'm saying is that we need to look out for each other. Starrman has taken considerable risk (as has Plabby) in posting--- in a very personal manner-- their work. Making themselves much more vulnerable than either you or I, and for that, I have to show respect.

I had a dream about this last night. Believe it or not. We were all at a meet-u ...[text shortened]... . Starrman has done the unthinkable in that he has named names... his own.

That, I salute.
Starrman, Phlabs, & Huck, all know they are open to opinions on their playing and singing. They knew this going in, not something that is going to come as a surprise.

If you put yourself out there, people are certainly going to comment. You are going to get positive and negative feedback. That is the way of the world.

Never say anything on here you wouldn't say to the person in person, and you wouldn't have to be concerned about your dream. I would enjoy meeting many people on here, just to see what they are really, really like! 😉

They weren't as good as the Stones but hey, they are pretty old! They were acceptable. They picked tyhe right songs to play and the didn't run over like Springsteen. They did their job.

I'm merely pointing out the obvious: the comfort of anonymity offers a huge buffer for our efforts, granting a comfort even in defeat. When we gaffe in person, the sting is unabated except perhaps by time. These 1's and 0's herein allow us to edit our thoughts in a manner wholly inconsistent with reality, whereas those 1's and 0's offered by Starrman, Phlabby and Huck are much closer to a public/personal interaction.

Like you, I am open to meeting folks from this site. My hesitation, however, is informed by the reality that face-to-face interactions would forever alter others' perceptions of me and my sleekly edited persona. Here, I am an articulate, well-read elucidator of ideas. In person, I'm just a big goofy dork.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course.

You do understand that if you put yourself out there you are open to negative as well as positive comments?

I really could care less if you are big goofy dork, as you stated.

Perhaps you just have a low opinion of yourself? Have you tried getting counselling?

You should do a guitar smashing ending to one of your songs.
