And that's because their egos get in the way. If it was a more open subject, they'd talk freely without assumption or judgement, bragging would be counter productive.
Aw heck, perhaps its the same for everything in life.
AHAHAHAHAHAH!
IT IS THUS:
You people, you're technically all strangers. I've only met about one or two or three or four of you. I wouldn't think of discussing sex with strangers in the real world. I wouldn't think of discussing sex with people I see everyday, my colleagues, and it'd take quite a lot to get me to talk turkey with any of my friends. It shouldn't be an open subject, because THERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT YOU JUST DON'T WANT TO KNOW ABOUT PEOPLE.
Case closed.

I would like to see a general decline in the uptight attitudes people have to sex. And I dream of a day where girls and boys can discuss technique and give serious detailed advice without feeling perverse. It irritates me that in a modern society, the fundamental and most important thing about being human is such a dangerous subject to broach.
Oh, I agree! But I think we need to look at the medium/venue here and realize that not all topics of discussion are going to be fair game and accept that. If it bothers you THAT MUCH (Shav) then you can easily find an audience better suited to your more blue material and take it to them...
I don't see how the two compare or how talking about talking about sex is exceptionally stupid.Have replied to Starrman about how the 2 talks about talks compare...
On the other hand, I see you as a give/take it in the ass kind of person. Am I right?
In answer to your question, I'd prefer not to talk about sex until after we are finished talking about talking about it.

Do you hav anything to add to the debate or are you just here to talk about the even more ridiculous subject of comparing styles of talking about talking about sex?
It's simply this - if you want to talk about sex go right ahead and talk about it. Talking about talking about it is stupid. That's my opinion.
You then insulted me twice so I insulted you back. That alright with ya mucker?
