Why is it that people tend to care about things such as politics?
what causes some people to care more than others?
is it religion? or the lack thereof?
why is it that people try, some try their whole lives, to get their opinion heard?
what is the goal behind voicing an opinion?
is an opinion a waste of energy?
please help me out here

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

Why do they nail a coffin shut?
What is the purpose of a tse-tse fly?
Why does the neighbourhood dog allways crap in my yard?
Why do the english eat baked beans with a breakfast?

Because that's just the way it is.

Why care?

Because I do. Some things can't be explained any more than that.

so ur saying that God (or whatever you believe in, i'll keep my God thank you very much)
made us with the intention of making us care about stupid crap like politics?
ahh...
politics...
my thoughts on politics...
I used to be very conservative, and still am...
difference being that i used to get into heated arguments with my liberal friends over what's right and what's wrong
whereas now i have accepted the fact that voicing my opinion does no good... and never will unless i make it a goal to become a unanimously hated prick in the white house

For once at last I agree with Ian68. We have to care or the alternative is to live with anarchy. Western governments at least maintain safe and fairly just law and order, and please don't say they don't. We complain about taxes etc. but they do infact pay for fire officers, police, education, even street lighting! Orderly life if you like. You can't chastise your complaints about day to day living without having experienced third world suppressed living. Thank your god you have a (even if doubtful) elected government from choices of only good candidates, who, if even are ars hules, continue the status quo of peace (relatively).
