So far in the Olympics:
Germany: 18 medals, population 82.2 million, 1 medal per 4.5 million people
Norway: 16 medals, population 4.5 million, 1 medal per 281,000 people
Austria: 10 medals, population 8.2 million, 1 medal per 820,000 people
Switzerland: 8 medals, population 7.4 million, 1 medal per 925,000 people
Italy: 7 medals, population 57.3 million, 1 medal per 8.19 million people
Sweden: 6 medals, population 8.9 million, 1 medal per 1.48 million people
France: 5 medals, population 59.1 million, 1 medal per 11.82 million people
Finland: 5 medals, population 5.2 million, 1 medal per 1.04 million people
Great Britain: 1 medal, population 58.8 million, 1 medal per 58.8 million people
We see that Great Britain has an abysmal number of medals per capita. Only one medal for a nation with more than 50 million people? I'm sorry, but that stinks. They can't put all the blame on their lack of mountains. Finland doesn't have any mountains but they have 5 medals. They're a temperate country, so they get snow. It's not like Algeria or something. Are we to conclude that the British suck? That conclusion seems inescapable.

To clarify, American football is far stupider than rest-of-world football, but the degree to which many Brits take their football obsessions can only be compared to the degree to which OCD sufferers take their dusting hobby.

How many people holiday to the UK for the skiing or snow in general?!

We had about two days when snow actually settled long enough to look like snow here, and that's the North of England which is usually one of the worst areas along with Scotland. Hardly ever enough to ski on or any other winter sports.
Finland has been skiing for thousands of years, we in UK are just starting.
Correct, we are more obsessive with 'football'; probably cos we are the best at it......😉

Oh we Indians are even better.
1 medal (silver) from more than a billion population.
Actually we improved from 2000 olympics
1 medal (bronze) from a billion population.
