Yes, thinking about what I did have, pulled me through. Changing my train of thought from 'Oh no look what I've lost' to 'But yes I still have all this to live for' significantly changed my perception of a crisis from despair to hope.
I'm sorry if you can't grasp this. In fact I'm not even asking you to grasp this principle. It's just how I am and the way I try to look at the world.
You have said nothing that supports the message in this thread.

This is something you say to someone who thinks they have a problem. Not something you say to someone who does have a real problem.
That is my point. If this tactic works, you didn't really have a problem in the first place.
I bid you good day!

The other things you say are spot on... think of what you have, what you have done, what you have to look forward to. These things are fine and will help... and has nothing to do with this thread.
The title of the thread says it all. Bro Ed HAS never had anything bad happen to him.

When something really bad happens to you, do you use a tactic of thinking about something grisly which happened to somebody else to make you feel better? He's not asking if you dwell on problems, or whether you try to drag others down with you, or anything like that.
You're having digs at Phlab due to your lack of comprehension skills.

My outlook is my outlook and no one can tell me to change that.
