It seems standard in countries where there are separate standards for men and women in sexual matters, where women are seen as the 'enticers' who draw men into sin. Why do you think women must all be covered head to toe, while men can often go half-naked?

I think most western women 'get it' that their ideas of independence or gender equality don't quite agree with the cultural norms in these Islamic states especially.

Sharia law, based on the Koran.

I haven't read the Koran, so I'm not intimately knowledgeable of Sharia law.

I do understand that it is Islam's version of the Mosaic laws as set forth in the Torah, only apparently much more restrictive towards females. Sharia law also sets forth other rules, such as how and when to pray, etc.

You'd have to do some research to find out precisely why. It's altogether possible that the best answer you'll get is "Because God said so!"

Well, as that girl that the Taliban tried to kill said,

These whacko Muslims are afraid of education.
They would rather that their people remained in the dark ages.
Especially their women.

It's a pity that they don't teach their people about the difference between
Jesus and Mohammed.

Jesus was never married and he did no wrong and he preached about
peace and love and cooperation between peoples as well as not committing
any crime and loving and serving God.

Mohammed on the other hand was a nut who preached hatred and death
and he was married several times. He was also a paedophile as one of his
wives was only six years old apparently.

I suspect if these Muslims knew more about their revered prophet
they might have a change of heart.

In your opinion, does the virtual absence of Christianity play a significant role in the atrocities the sonhouse link portrays?

"Dubai (CNN) -- Norwegian interior designer Marte Deborah Dalelv has spoken out after being handed a 16-month prison sentence in Dubai -- after she went to police to report she had been raped by a colleague.

The 24-year-old was convicted and sentenced on charges of having unlawful sex, making a false statement and illegal consumption of alcohol.

Her story is dominating the headlines in Norway, and has raised serious questions over the way women who allege sexual assault are treated in the United Arab Emirates.

Dalelv, who had been working at an interior design firm in Qatar since September 2011, told CNN on Saturday how a work trip to Dubai in March with three colleagues turned into a nightmare." (continues)

Get raped, go to jail and the rapist goes free.
The U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics states that 91% of rape victims are female and 9% are male, and 99% of rapists are male.[85] One of six U.S. women has experienced an attempted or completed rape.[86] More than a quarter of college age women report having experienced a rape or rape attempt since age 14.[87] Some types of rape are excluded from official reports altogether (the FBI's definition, for example, used to exclude all rapes except forcible rapes of females), because a significant number of rapes go unreported even when they are included as reportable rapes, and also because a significant number of rapes reported to the police do not advance to prosecution.[88] As well as the large number of rapes that go unreported, only 25% of reported rapes result in arrest. Many rape kits are not tested.[89] Only 16% of rapes and sexual assaults are reported to the police (Rape in America: A Report to the Nation. 1992 and United Nations Populations Fund, 2000a).[90][91] Factoring in unreported rapes, about 5% of rapists will ever spend a day in jail.[92]

I like you, and don't want to think you're stupid. But you're stupid. Makes me sad. Christianity is retarded. Doesn't hold up to examination. Sorry. I like your spirit. Wish it would grow.
