No, because it's a thread about preserving the atmosphere. at least it was before your attempted hijacking of it.

One thing is clear, if the problem is to be solved, then we, the human inhabitants of the planet, will have to solve it. It's childish and naive to expect supernatural help when said help has not been forthcoming through the ages on the disastrous problems of world famine and disease. Nor was it forthcoming when Christian Europe was devastated by the black plague. We now return to regular programming. Thank-you.

Clear understanding results only when a thing (issue, premise, idea, concept, person, etc) is viewed in context.

Tons of human suffering are self induced. From time to time,

He deems it necessary to prune a few diseased trees

or to uproot whole landscapes of nonproductive vineyards...

otherwise the human race would eventually self destruct.

Intellectual confusion and false conclusions are inevitable,

if and whenever, our viewpoint is flawed (relativistic rather

than pegged to absolute principles) and our perspective limited

(horizontal rather than vertical). Look down from 100 miles up...

They better leave my car alone.
That's all I'm saying. Leave the car alone!

tell you what, bobby: why don't you fly over to Africa and tell the starving children there that they have to die because God sees them as 'diseased trees' and their country as a 'nonproductive vineyard'. i'm no christian, but i suspect christ would be appalled at what you have to say about human suffering. and no, these kids did not inflict ehir suffering upon themselves, they are innocents, if anybody is.

Well done on not accepting any responsibility whatsoever for your actions.

So we can kill every plant, animal and fish and it'll be ok, so long as we have secured a nice cushty seat alongside yer man upstairs?

Well done on just joining the long list of nut jobs on this site.

...viewed in the correct context. the wrong context (i.e. the belief in a supernatural agency that stops us from wiping ourselves out) just renders the waters inpenetrably muddy.

ok, now you reply with one of your 'wisdom-shines-out-my-a$$' obscurantisms.

Your bleeding heart naivete comes as a total surprise.

The cumulative consequences of individual and collective

wrong decisions of parents and grandparents and nations

have been visited upon the 'innocent' children of subsequent

generations since time immemorial. Even secular historians

recognize the divine principle of the 4th generation curse.

You have a right to your opinion. Everybody respects that.

What smacks of intellectual dishonesty and emotional

disorientation is your apparent disinclination to allow any

contrary opinions equal right... if they collide with your own.

Context is context... either accurate or inaccurate but never

'right' or 'wrong'. Why? Because they're subjective overlays.

Yes, damn these cumulative consequences

of individuals who have pushed back

the boundaries of science and helped millions through

the manufacture of e.g. targeted drugs, which

help fight the diseases that have plagued mankind

since the dawn of time

Who is to blame for these disease?

Not us.

Thank God.

p.s. - quit double spacing, it is neither clever nor necessary.

On another note. The Planet will be fine. Market forces will eventually come round to the fact that as the middle east becomes more unstable, alternative energy will become a whole lot cheaper than importing oil.

Your words are disjointed and incoherrent ornaments

on a paragraph which lacks content. Least you got your

oar in. Spacing is out of deference to my weak eyes.

P.S. Presumptuous of you to seize Iron's prerogative of reply.

It is easy to talk and say something must be done...much harder to actually do something.

For me the true heros are the doers, not the talkers.
