Strange is it not? That two should see an equality in the matters of life and living as it relates to co-existing cooperation, but then drift away again after some time?

The beauty of it is, as you said, we learn from the experience.

What do we learn? I think we learn to co-exist in spite of our differences. We teach that to our children. They in turn practice those principles of living in the communities we live in. With our neighbor. With the guy that cuts you off on the highway, or butts ahead of you in line, etc. etc.

Essentially, we learn to deny ourselves for the sake of the other. The alternative is strife and ultimately war.

I believe that marriage is the world in microcosm.
