I think that is very typical of the differences between men and women.

One thing that annoys me about women is
they cut their hair after capturing a man.
This is a no no in my book as I am attracted to
girls with long hair. Yet some women, as soon as
they get a man.....bang... the long hair gets cut off.

    Very very annoying.

I know that one should look for more in a partner or a wife
than simply the length of her hair, but little things like that
    bother me.

    Girls, don't cut your hair.

Men marry women hopeful that the woman won't change; women marry men hopeful that the man will change. 🙂

    very close...
    i heard the quote as,
"a man marries a woman hoping she won't change, and she always does...
a woman marries a man hoping he will change, and he never does..."

Herein lies the "problem". Why is it so hard for both to realize that neither will happen?

Let's not be too divisive about this; there are many similarities between men and women. Both have two legs, two arms and one head. And, uuum... can anybody think of any more?

The one club I am aware of has about 30 members. About a dozen of them have posted in the last 10 days or so. Over time, the majority of posts are from about half that number. Some people post rarely but interestingly. I'd guess about 10-15 members have not posted in months, and are basically gone.

The above is based on a quick look, not a multi-page analysis of threads.

It might be worth looking at your "target population" of GF participants to see if your target numbers are realistic. How many people frequently participate here?

Club Ratings: "All club members have an additional rating - their club rating. Any rated game completed against another member of the same club will change your club rating. Your club ratings are in addition to your site rating."

Joining a Club: "Do not hesitate to request membership to a club if you would like to participate - your normal Red Hot Pawn experience will remain unaffected. Both subs and non-subs can join a club. Club membership is only limited by the club administrator who accepts or declines club membership requests."

Creating a Club"Although anyone can join a club, only subscribers can create one. If you do create a club, please remember that only clubs with at least 10 members will have an active club rating."

Opinion: We probably need a minimum of 25-30 active members to start.
This should allow for early attrition and still keep things lively. Thoughts?

Appreciate your thoughtful analysis (and think we're tracking on a realistic minimum). GF Only wasn't the intent; exclusivity would cripple an infant club which needs many legs. We already have a few members who post primarily to other forums.

My thoughts are that I will leave the details to those capable of handling them. I get bored with statistics. 😀 I think we already had a good discussion going without benefit of a club name or a members' list. I get restless with all the nuts and bolts being sorted out.

Yes! We already have our first thread!

Some people, like me, would contribute more
if they had not been subjected to abuse and
    pejorative remarks.

When one's contribution is rubbished and diminished
then one is not likely to post there anymore. A club
of so called friends is meant to be just that. But if
off the cuff remarks are made which can be taken
the wrong way well then it is the thin end of the wedge
on the way to another clan forum.

That's a forum I won't participate in because of the nature
of its content. I did not expect to see the same type of
acidic remarks made towards me by a certain individual.

That's why my presence there is now a rare event.

With your thoughtfulness and talent for poetry, you should be an asset to any club, Michael. Do not let some people get your goat. You will make friends whereever you go. You have one here.

Thanks Audrey. It's very kind of you to say so.
But I was told by the club leader that the person
who offended me has nothing to apologize for.
So that's the end of that.

No matter. If you would like to engage with me
in meaningful friendly conversation then I will be
here on the general forum. My level of conversation
will always be positive and meaningful and hopefully
light hearted and helpful. I will speak to anyone who
    is kind to me.
