Certainly an individualistic chap, very much his own man. Unsure I even understand the meaning of the phrase you quoted, so it holds no appeal. Inclined to identify with the independent Yankee Farmer in Vermont who said, 'Take my milk from many cows but make my own butter'. Why would anybody choose to become talking point beholden to a few milkers in some herd?

Mine are simple and the same now as when I was your age: to continue to learn; to work at peeling away layers of the sensitivity onion; to widen/deepen my appreciations; to keep moving on toward new intensities; to enjoy life to the hilt each new day.

Last priority is probably to apply memory to events on the passing scene.

To remember how some things repeat and to remember the familiar feel.
