I spent too many years and a lot on psychiatrists bills worrying about how other people saw me. I'm me, I'm happy and that is about all I could hope to ask for.
If you are happy with youreslf as a person then your reputation matters not a jot.

A job offer comes up requiring a hard hitting person. What will get your the job?
a. Your character which shows you as mild mannered, pleasant person
or
b. Your reputation as an evil "kill your grannie" to get the job done quickly, efficiently and at as little cost to the company as possible.

What sort of reputation could be inclusive enough to describe someone?
For example, in these forums you have a reputation of being a very nice lady. In that sense, I believe your reputation is accurate, even if it is not complete.
