Inspired by the thread "Russian Women for Marriage".

What are the clues to distinguish whether a general forum poster is male or female?

(Ignoring the question, "Why should it matter?" It seems to matter for some.)

Look down the front of your trousers. Are you an innie or an outtie? 😕

If someone refers to their "first husband", even in an obvious gag, it can distinguish the poster as "female" for years, regardless of gender.

"FMF" is neutral. Even if you put it into Google Translate and translate it into languages that have gender ~ i.e. feminine and masculine, for example French or Hebrew ~ it comes out unaffected.

I used the screen name Nick Bourbaki for a few weeks and I chose it because I felt it reflected my masculinity.

Why isn't there a box you can check off (optional) saying if you're male or female? Was this an oversight, or was it intentional?

Or it could be "a moment when the curtain flapped open", to use your words.

Your point is that you think I am a woman, is that it?

This is a very good question.

However, I feel that a more important issue, aside from the
genitals of users, is if they like sausage or tuna.

I've never been able to figure out why six-packs are meant to be attractive to women. Perhaps they're only meant to be attractive to other men?
