bike odometers/ computers

i'm looking for a decent bike odometer to tell me how far i've riden and all that fun stuff. the basics just the time that i've ridden for, how fast i'm going and how far i've gone. the cateye brands seem to be very good. anyone have one and any thoughts or comments on it?

Don't overlook getting a small GPS. it will plot you path and provide speed, averages, etc. I use an old Garmin XL–a bracket is available to mount it on handle bar.

Cateye one's are perfect for what you need

GPS memory is great, but much more expensive.

Edit - be sure to set it up correctly - if you put the wrong tyre size in all your speeds / distance measures will be out too. They tend to default to the road bike default (700/23c) as that is the type of bike most use them for. If you ride an MTB or a 650 road bike, then you'll need to use the lookup table to get the correct diameter to enter.

thanks for your help. i'm riding a GT agressor mtb. i'm guessing it will show the tire size on my bike tires correct? i'm out to get one tonite. but i don't think i'll be riding tomarrow. i rode a lot yesterday. too many hills. hips are screaming.

went to the store since i found it online and they only had 1 kind of odometer there. it wasn't wireless but 34 bucks i decided to take it. took a bit to install but it works well. thanks for the help. cateye did make it but later in the future i'll get a gps one. but for now this works.

does it matter how far up or down you put the sensor?

ahh i see. thanks. today i went on a ride with my friend and he had trouble keeping up with my pace ;-)
