I guess I just hate to lose to a player that's 1400. But, I feel better after this thread. I'm currently playing him a 10 game match, because he actually thought that one win meant he could win some more. So far, the tally is ME: 3 wins HIM: 0 wins. I plan on playing the last three games and sweeping the series. I think I just played a bad game that ...[text shortened]... playing my 1700 Saitek chess computer. Hence, 3 wins in a row and three more to come. 🙂
Except for some player who i consider friends I give them more games now and then.
Play players near your strength and you'll learn more. Stop beat up on weaker players. Sure it brings you pleasure but other then that what else do you get from it? Spending months on one game for a measly 4 points?
there's also the idea of 'paying it forward'. I usually give pointers if I'm playing someone hundreds of points weaker than myself (I know you do the same, and probably many others as well). that is if they want them. I realize I'm not that great myself, and wouldn't want to force advice on anyone, but I try to help if I can.

O: Hopefully I can beat you this time.
PS: I doubt it loser I'm actually 1700 OTB.
O: Well I did win one last time.
PS: That was a fluke I'm actually 1700 OTB you're only 1400.
O: I'm not quite sure what I should play here.
PS: Perhaps you should resign, you may as well I'm actually 1700 OTB.
O: Oops I missed that you could take the knight.
PS: That's why you're only 1400 and I'm 1700 OTB. Loser. LOL

"Please God, give me a rating of 1700 OTB. Let me keep that rating of 1700 OTB. Give me the strength to convince others that I have a rating of 1700 OTB. And give others the wisdom to greet me as 'Powershaker, who is 1700 OTB'.
"Also, world peace, etc."

You never know and sometimes they could use that move you suggested against you if the position hasn't changed much.

1 Black :aaahh,the queen's gambit.......
18 White :Boy, you sure are in a mess of trouble now.
18 Black :don't make bullish proclaims, you sound cocky.
19 White :No, you run your mouth in the forums about my strength! I've crushed 1600 and 1700 players! And, I just got finished drawing three and winning 2 against a 1600 player on here. I'm going to make you look like an "Italian punching bag just for that!"
Guess who won that game?

My ingame conversation was very peaceful with him. Strange.

I was right.
P.S.: I lost the count of how many threads he started to discuss about his "proper" rating.

I had a game with him a long time ago when he first joined. I started helping him with his thread questions and he sent a game over and we played and discussed the game. I think that's why he isn't hostile towards me because I was trying to help him from way before.
Well whatever, hehe 24 threads nice!
Honestly though, I have great respect for anyone who is over 1600 on here without using db's, books and opening trees.
I know I used them a lot and can attribute many of my points because of them.
Originally posted by RahimKYeah, Rahim, but I find it difficult to find other 1600-1800 players in the normal every day world. I mean, I haven't even met a single one, and I've been hanging out in Waikiki with all the chess geeks. Playing blitz on the clock and standard, everything... The only players I meet are either too weak for me and I slaughter them, or I discover I'm playing a master, and he slaughters me every, single game. I've never been beaten as bad as this one guy beat me. His name is "George of the Jungle." That's what they call him on the island. And, man, I learned the hard way why his name is "George of the Jungle." The dude is clearly an Expert or Beyond. He crushed me every single game. Then, I bared down completely, and tried to win one. I got a good attack going, but he found all the right moves out of the mating net. I was one move away from a mating net. He caught the whole thing, and turned the entire game around. This chinaman George is so good that I'll say he could crush anyone on redhotpawn.com, and not even think about it. 5 minute blitz. quick chess. Standard. Anything. I don't think there's anyone on redhotpawn.com who could beat "George of the Jungle." He even obliterates the 1900 players. And, I mean, he wins every, single game. Never, ever, ever, loses a single game!

Originally posted by XanthosNZOMG! LOL! You are so wrong. When I play someone OTB, I am the nicest person in the world. That's because I know they're not cheating for sure. I'm very much a gentleman in an OTB game. I believe that is a very important trait to have for a chess player. The only stab I took at that 1400 was when he tried to say he was exhausted. So, then I swept him 3-0, and I could just see the pain in his face. And, then he disappeared, and I haven't seen him since. He said we were going to finish out 10 game match, but I guess that 3-0 scared him off. I told him I would sweep him. But, I didn't say anything mean to him. I was just smiling and picking at him. That was hours after the game though - not during. I don't usually talk in midgame or try to use psychology on my opponent. I don't think that's very polite.
