Congrads Stives on Winning Guess the Move. I came a very close second and 3rd is cguy1 🙂
Bonus+1p: What does Stives win?
It has to do with Chess, Rhp and this Thread.
Obviously I already won this bonus point so we are sharing first place 😛 Just joking! Well done Stives.
So you are probably wondering what to do now? Why did I make you go through this. Any guess what to do next?
Any guess who the two players were? White? Black? and no checking online or databases or anything like that. Just take a wild guess who they were.
Originally posted by StivesAny guess what you reward will be?
I guess Alekhine as white...maybe Euve as black.
Thank you Rahim, it's nice to win something lol! But even my winning score is pitiful against the possible points that were lost through wrong guesses................
About the points, pretty pathetic less then 50%
I guess that's what seperated masters from us.
Originally posted by RahimKi dunno...i think that white was definetly Alekhine...mostly because of the way he tortured black through the game...it deffinantly seems his style (we are going over master comments next right?) I dunno much about other players of that time. Btw, he was only 1 less than half so give him some slack 😛

Originally posted by c guy1I'm not talking about him specially. I'm talking about us all. Less then 50%.

I wonder if people score better if they are better players. I think they do score a bit better but I don't think their rating matters that much compared to other factors.
Originally posted by RahimKI'm not sure how much rating has to do with it. I was probably one of the lower rated people yet I got 3rd. Buuuuuuuut stop stalling. Are we going to go over master commentaries AND who played the games?

Originally posted by c guy1yes i think some people are just better then others at guess the move regardless of their rating.

Welcome to another round of Family Feud. We surveyed 100 people (this is a lie) and asked them who they taught played that game.
Your guesses-> Alekhine as White.
Survey says - XXX
I know, I know. I got personality.
The answer was:
White: None other then the great cuban himself, Capa!
Black: Alekhine!

Okay so now this is the most important part of the exercise so pay attention.
Open a word document and copy your guess for each move, your comments and how much time it took you.
I'm working on mine right now. It should look like this:
Bold -> 1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.e3 Nf6 4.Nf3 e6 5.Nbd2 Nbd7
6.Bd3 I chose this move because white is ready to castle now, it develops the bishop and covers the e4 square. The point of Nbd2 was that if dxc4 for black the knight can recapture so the bishop does not waste a tempo going to d3 and then playing Bxc4.
Black will play 6...Be7
Took me 3 minutes.
Bold -> 6.Bd3 Be7
So basically you have your guess,comments, time and then the actual solution in bold.
I'll give you guys 2 days, so friday to get this done and we will move on to the final step (I'll post capa's comments and we can discuss).
