I like having an anonymous ID. I wouldn't play here if you made me tell you who I really was.
I wouldn't care if people know who I am. But I think this would be more hassle than it is worth. Perhaps you could set a rating limit at which someone would have to give an identity. Until they do so, lock the account.
I think I say and do things too differently on then I do in real life, where I am a relatively well respected organiser, so I wouldnt want to end up having someone come up to me at a tournament or 4ncl game and start ranting about things I said on the internet.
But two of the biggest cheats on the site, with just one loss apiece, both give their real names in their RHP handle (or whatever it's called).
If fact that's been suggested to me as the reason that one of these hasn't been banned despite massive evidence that he is a cheat - because it would be like saying "<real name> is a cheat" rather than "<witty internet name> is a cheat", which might leave the site owners open to litigation.
But since everyone else in this thread is giving their real name:
I'm Jon D'Souza-Eva. My ECF grade is 179, which I believe converts to 2145 FIDE if the formula (ECF*5 + 1250 = FIDE) is to be believed. Funnily enough this is exactly the same as my RHP rating!
