I can see that the result is annoying, but if you complain in the forums about someone who didn't actually break any rules you can expect a certain amount of ridicule. The only reason I can see for playing 1/0 time limits is to catch out an opponent in this way. If you don't want that to happen don't accept this time limit.
Thats why i ALWAYS have a 7 day time bank.
Incidentally, I played someone rated 1680 recently,and still am. He went on vacation for just over a week, and his grade plummetted 400 points as his opponents timed him out. He returned on the date he said he would, and I resumed my game with him, despite the fact I could have timed him out to protect the loss of grading points.
I would hope that most people would do the same, but there are people who misuse the flag, which does make people think twice about not timing people out.
Just play the chess here knowing your grade here doesnt matter, and that you just play in good spirit, and for fun. Ignore people who do what your opponent did, anyone that desperate for grading points isn't worth bothering with. Most people play here to improve their chess skills, I hope you have success doing the same.
