Is that your point of view, or another assertion?

Maybe so, but sometimes American English makes a hell of a lot more sense than English English.
See my original post? That, my friend is an opinion. I BELIEVE that sometimes, English from Europe can be confusing and strange to a person such as me, who was raised on American English. I have nothing against other forms of the same language; I enjoy the complexity and challenge it brings to my sometimes dull life. When I said that sometimes American English is better than English English, it was an opinion that was put forth by someone unfamiliar with other dialects.

Assertion-Something declared or stated positively, often with no support or attempt at proof.

Opinion-A belief or conclusion held with confidence but not substantiated by positive knowledge or proof

Britain isn't without its own sense of shame. After all, we are home to the Welsh.

It would be very strange if there weren't a few small differences between the versions of English after 400 years and 3000 miles of separation. Otherwise new languages would never form.

My favourite word not to translate very well (least not to my American wife) is Cheeky.

As in: Bowman can be somewhat cheeky.
