I realise this game is ongoing (but won't be much longer as I have a forced mate in 2)

I am a Q, R, N and 2Ps up. My opponent has a solitary K.

When he made move 47 he offered a draw. I could win this blindfolded against the combined mights of Kasparov, Fisher and all past and future World Champions.

Is this rude or what?

if some guy rated 500 points above me was beating the hell out of me an offered a draw i would take it as a kind gesture. reason one is because they allowed me to play them and i could look at some of the things my game needs improvement on and two because i let them beat me up and they were generous enough to not take points away from me. why did u offer them a draw ne ways? kindess or trying to rub it in? just wondering

Err no! In this game the lower rated player was the one offering a draw when he had a solitary K.

This game started by the way when I was rated p 1200

Rude if he was claiming a draw.
Not rude if he was offering a draw.
All you have to do is to neclect the offer, and that's it.

Rude not to have resigned ages ago, let alone offer a draw. I am a Q, R & N up for goodness sake with a mate in 1 (now)

Maybe his goal is to earn a spot on your blacklist 😛

Ah! I see, he wants to claim a timeout off me!

I missed that!

I don't know how many times I have to say this:

IT IS NOT RUDE TO NOT RESIGN A LOST GAME

People screw up, people allow draws, people get over confident, people allow a stalemate sometimes, there is always a chance to save a lost game. Just because you are beating the pants off him doesn't mean he is supposeed to resign. A lot of players do, but it is perfectly acceptable to make you finish the game and earn your point. And there is a certain satisfaction in checkmate anyway. So stop complaining and just enjoy your win.

If someone offered a draw to me in that position I might actually be tempted to say yes.

I got a draw offer in a similar position while playing blitz and decided to stalemate my opponent.

No it's not. It's probably not very wise or convincing, maybe it is comic or even embarrasing, but it is not rude.
Rude would have been to stretch the game, which wasn't done. So what are you complaining about in fact?

How can he stretch it! He has been mated.

I would resign way before I had such a material deficit and would not expect my opponent to demonstrate a forced mate.

It is an insult to imply that a higher rated player cannot win with such a decisiive advantage. Any 1800 player would almost certainly have resigned. Indeed even Kasparov would have resigned this position.

Why is it that because you are rated 1100 you assume others cannot play chess?

If you insult someones intelligence and ability you are being rude!
