People buy movies for $20; get two hours of amusement and then put it on the shelf forever.
I paid $50 for Fritz 10 and when it gets here I will spend some ungodly, borderline divorce court, amount of time using it. If everyone stole this product the price would skyrocket and or the developement would freeze.
For what it does it's a good value. If you disagree then go without it.

I don't think CB9 is a good deal at all though, how do they rationalize that price?!

Chessbase, and Corr. Database programs tend to be around $80+ (or more?) which seems ridiculous.
Actually it's a lot more, CB9 is over 150 Euros.
I think the higher price for the more specialized databases reflects the need to recover devlopment costs against the inevitable lower sales volume. I can't imagine that F10 gets to the market without a lot of passion, hardwork and risk. Visit the comapny, meet the people working on it day in day out, find out how much they have invested in development and then decide if you think you're being ripped off.
So far so good, no more laggers for me in bullet games on playchess😏 Massive section of vids that came with it which was a nice touch, got most of them already however they give you 32 videos from there fritz trainer range including new videos from Daniel King (mating patterns) Loek van Wely, Rustam Kasimdzhanov, Kasparov, Martin etc etc, looks like at least one vid from each DVD. There is also a whole host of beginner vids(like fritz9).
Does seem slower though, I usually only play sparring games against fritz which are usually fast, first 5,6 are real fast then fritz seems to take an age to think over his next move (I've got a pretty fast comp, gig ram etc) never had any troubles on 8 or 9.

There are vids on the CD that you can learn from?
I ordered mine and it's supposed to ship tomorrow, so I'll see it next week. I can't wait to try it.
Yeah from there fritz trainer range, usually the DVD's last between 3-4 hours. There range has mainly been based around openings however they seem to be branching out more with the likes of end games etc. The vids that come with fritz 10 range from around 15-25mins each so it's a nice idea giving you a taste for the DVD hoping you'll go out and buy it.
