Okay, I ordered it yesterday... along with a few other chess videos. Cost me $424.05 😲

Yeah, I'm out of control.

I admire Arrakis for his out of control behavior. A woman would never buy 424 dollars worth of chess stuff--maybe a dress or shoes. That's what makes men men. What is it someone said, men don't grow up they just get more expensive toys. Enjoy yourself, Arrakis!!

I also ordered fritz 10, partly because my subscriptiion ran out over at playchess, and partly hoping they do away with that stupid turk my graphics card can't handle.

Thanks buddy! or should I say buddy2? 😕
I agree 100% with your judgement.

BTW, I just bought one of those new-fangled HD TV's, 1080 DLP. When one of my married friends came over he said he had to have one, but just couldn't afford it right now. He had just paid $5,000 for cosmetic surgery for his wife cause she 'didn't like her neck'. 😲

So, I told him how he could buy a $4,000 system for free! Yeah, if you have some money already then you can buy a $4,000 system and it won't cost you a dime. Unfortunately, this doesn't work for people who don't have the money stashed away, but for people like my friend here's how it works:

I asked him, "Bob, when you pass away do you think you'll leave more than $4,000?"

"Of course", he replied, "I'll probably be worth more dead than alive."

So I told him, "Think of all that money you will be leaving... for the family to fight over - money that will make your wife a target... money that you worked hard for but never got to enjoy spending it. Doesn't seem right, Bob. You should do what I did."

"What's that?", Bob asks.

"You take $4,000 and buy the system. Enjoy it while you are still alive. Don't worry about the idea that you are spending $4,000 cause you aren't! No, what you are doing is 'borrowing' that amount of money from the inheritance you would be leaving. Instead of everyone fighting over the money left, they'll be fighting over $4,000 less. But you got the pleasure of using that money while you were alive! Hence, the TV is actually free." 😵

He's buying a new system tomorrow!

That's the ticket, arrakis. Seize the day! Cause you never know how many you have left. Who wants to go to the great beyond thinking, if i only had that big screen high definition multiplex quad whatever I would have been happy my last days. Besides it's fun waiting for the stuff to arrive in the mail and harrassing the mailman.

Thanks for your support. I truly believe that people should be happy before they die. 😵

I don't follow your logic...

Now they will fight over the system and the rest of the money...

I agree with the larger point... He'll be dead so who cares...

My goal is to spend my last dollar on my last day.

Oh no... you don't want to do that! I have another friend, Al, who told me that it wants to owe the max on his credit cards when he dies. "Screw the bast---s!", he says. 😏

You will be disappointed cause it won't be there for awhile.
I just received a confirmation that my order has been shipped WITHOUT Fritz 10! It's on backorder! 😳

Eat your heart out, Arrakis. I just got mine today. After installing it, i didn't notice much difference than Fritz 9. There's lots more sample videos, but that's what they are, samples of varying length. The did get rid of the stupid Turk, thank goodness. My computer, of course, froze using the 3d pieces and board. Im not going to buy a new graphics card to look at 3d pieces. If i want to look at 3d pieces, i've got a bag of them in the closet. The first thing i did was get rid of the annoying comments and board sounds. And of course, i did get another year of playchess, which seems to be all the thing has going for it. I really don't care what the weather is where im playing. Maybe i'll see something redeeming after playing with it for a while, but so far nothing impressive.

I think I'll wait for Hiarcs or Shredder 11.

@#&%!!
Mine is on back-order! 😠

Well, the transition for me is from Fritz 8 to 10 and what I was hoping for was a much larger database. Does it have a bigger database?
Oh yeah, one other thing... if you have Fritz 8 you can get a patch to run the chess videos but it doesn't work very well. I'd expect by Fritz 10 that they got the bugs out.

Cheers

Chess videos work very well for me with Fritz 9.

The videos work fine in 9 and 10. You should enjoy the variety of videos they give you (whenever you get the darn thing). I got mine through Chess Central. I emailed them first to be sure they'd have a supply. The database is much more up to date. About 1.12 million game database going up to September 2006. If you're going from 8 to 10, i guess you should notice a big difference.
