The post that was quoted here has been removed"Also, it's not unusual for countries *not* to be represented by all their strongest
players."
They could have found a similar strength player swinging by McDonalds on the way to to the venue. The reason i posted this game is because white (the Angolan) played Bg1 instead of delivering mate in one. If you want me to stand trial for the denigration of woman kind as a result, that is your prerogative, but don't think i won't stand my ground.
I have gone on record quite a few times stating the Olympiad
is the most important chess even of all.
If we can get them all playing chess, then they aint dropping bombs.
The fact is once every few years chess takes some children out
of circumstances and conditions we cannot imagine.
For that reason I am proud of chess.
Who gives a toss if they learned the moves on the plane.
For a few weeks they will be safe. They will have enjoyed an atmosphere
of total friendship completely disregarding their playing strength or who they are.
Yes we can have a chuckle at what is played.
We all played like that at one time.
But stop them playing in an Olympiad......Never.
These players more than any others belong there.
Duchess seems intent on being as nasty as possible, within forum rules. Not only ro me, but others, like the thread starter. This debacle of a thread could've been avoided just by saying, "Hey, just so you know, those chess players are women who've overcome huge obstacles to get there." Instead, Duchess goes on some unwaranted attack on the original poster's character, implying sexist insesitivity for no reason...on top of resorting to dragging conversations from other forums here, as an attack. Just sad.
Duchess seems to have bitterness issues in life. I see no other way of explaining why she goes to such lengths to attack people.
