rb, that perfect streak was against other newbies, so it won't last for long. I'm pretty much a patzer like you, but looking at your games so far, I think you need to learn pretty much all the basics. Tactics, general opening principles, some basic positional principles, and endgame principles.
I'd recommend a good beginner's book like Patrick Wolff's "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Chess". (Ignore that lousy title, it's a good book.) And if you can find the out-of-print book "Guide To Good Chess" by Cecil Purdy, that one is a good book for learning general positional principles. (Look for the newer editions, which are in the newer algebraic notation.) Then maybe get a good basic tactics book like Seirawan's "Winning Chess Tactics". Something like those 3 will give you a good start.
