The idea that chess is a racist game is one that I have heard before, but dismiss it just as quickly for the following reasons.....
chess and its pieces are inanimate objects and can't be "racist" or anything else human...(gay, happy, sad......ect.)
The game doesn't force black people to play the black pieces or white people to play the white pieces. the colors just separate the armies, that's all.
White always goes first for consistency. What if in a tournament you had to play against someone and they won the coin toss both times, that would be a little unfair, don't you think?
