I am getting pretty frustrated by players who will move like lightning when the game is even or they are slightly behind, but then stop moving when I find a mate in 3 or such. I see these guys moving their other games, but seem to "forget" about ours. Being an non-subscriber, I can only get 6 games in at a time and this is preventing me from starting a new game. Is there a way to declare mate or force resignation on these types of games or do I have to bite the bullet and wait it out. Just curious. Since CC games take so long I thought maybe there was a rule so something. Game 2201213

Just timeing them out is your only real recourse. If they are polite, sending them your analysis of the mate may cause them to resign, but it may cause others to sit there up until the last second before their timebank runs out.

Edit: I believe that in official federation/fide CC you can submit your analysis to an arbiter, but you have no such recourse here.

I can't subscribe because if I did, I would never work and get fired. I only get stuff done between moves and there is a lull in the forums.

Then stop your whining.

But I agree, people who only move in the games they are winning and drag on the games where they have lost for as long as possible are really annoying. I avoid playing known offenders of this more than once.
I probably will end up subscribing. 6 games is enough when people are moving with regularity. I just hate the guy that all the sudden stops playing. I just want some consistency and courtesy. If I'm way behind, I resign and end it. I just wish more people would exercise the same type of manners

He's getting back at you for the 3 days 19 hours and 8 minutes you used out of your timebank 🙂

Get two more queens and bat him around for 48 moves. Then mate him.

Maybe. I was on vacation and don't know how the vacation flagging stuff works. If that's the case I deserve it. Still kinda dick move.

it is possible that he is unaware of the impending doom and is simply trying to find a decent move.

i dont deliberatly leave games when i know they are lost (ill just resign) but if i am behind i do tend take more time over the move, in the hope of finding a way back into the game. although in my case that usually means instead of playing at 8:00 ill play at 10:00 instead lol

the only way to ensure that you wont have to wait too long is to play short timeouts (i like 1/0 games against strangers), they have 24 hours to play or get timed out - it at least ensures they will play at least one each day.

I'll never understand you players that want faster games and yet play 3 days per move with a 7-day timebank.

I only play 1/7 games for that reason. That way if my opponent is a jerk after a couple of weeks I can time them out instead of waiting months.

As you move up the rating ladders and play higher rated opponents less and less people will do suck a thing. Thankfully I have never been in a situation like that in CC. However, OTB I have been. But with OTB the game is over within several hours and not months.

I learned that and have only been playing 1/7 for my last couple games.
