I wanted to share how I've gotten to this rating with anyone that might be interested. My rating shouldn't dip much below this point again and my approach to the game is changing. Anyway, for the past 150 games or so I've often used these six things to reach where I am:

1 Queen's Gambit
2 Sicilian Defense
3 Aware of who is controlling the center of the board
4 Aware of developing both sides
5 Pinning
6 Playing people who are better than me

Besides those, I've just done what's always come naturally to me in chess. Hope this helps!

Here's how I got there

1) Mercilessly murk 6 people, and took 2 wins from time outs.

All that's needed now to complete the set is a "how I made it to 1200" thread. ๐Ÿ˜

I did start one on "Target 2100" but failed to get there.

Still there is always another day.

For me, getting to 1500+: stop screwing up so much.

That's really it.

And now I'm dropping because I'm forgetting to blunder check.

For anyone who's goal is only 100-150 points over their stable rating...
Just play a bunch of games, and play slowly in ones that you're losing. You'll quickly achieve the desired rating just before crashing back to earth.

Edit: By a bunch I mean 100-150 or more at a time.

I read that last night! Been thinking about this for a few weeks now too, so I'm glad you gave it a name. Bring any examples here.
