I didn't play this game, but I've always been very impressed with this player.

White graded 2188 lost to black graded 1319. Amazing!
No player graded 2188 would play some of those moves even in drunken blitz! An 879 point rating difference implies a 100% probability of victory. That is unless you are such a tosser you think you can play when you turn your engine off.

Originally posted by Dragon FireI get your point, but nothing's 100%. I was on RHP blitz the other night and I find myself in a tight game. I had to concentrate hard and I finally pulled out the win in the end game. I was feeling pretty good until I looked at his rating - almost 500 points lower than mine.

Anyone can have a good day and anyone can have a bad day.
Another case in point. I'm playing in a tourney now and I secured a slight, though clear, advantage in the opening in one game, as black no less. I intended to play a move that would have consolidated my advantage, but I decided to think about it for a while instead to try to find a better move. Then, when I was cycling through my games again, I got the game confused with a different game, and I accidentally made a dumb move that blew my advantage. Now it's basically a dead even game and I'm trying not to let my frustration affect the way I play the rest of the game.
If you saw that game anyone would say "No way a 1600 player makes that dumb a move..." Mistakes happen.
