Joined 04 Nov '05 Moves 12606 Well I'd be very happy with 1...d6 as the Pirc is my response to 1.e4 ...also btw I'm more than happy to play through the first few moves.

1. ... e5 2. Nf3 f5! 0-1 Perhaps if you are better prepared OTB. But in correspondence I'd say 1-0 😛

Very popular for some reason, with those who hate 1. ... e5.

Some of you want me to skip the first uninterested moves of the game. The first interesting move is however a very subjective matter. So my plan is to let you find out yourselves which is the first truly interesting move. I'll stick with my plan to give you one, and one only, move a day.
Here comes the first move of the game, interesting or not:

1. e4 Well my prediction is 1.. .c5 since it's so common. Can we assume that this is a game between two masters? I see little point in this exercise if it's between a couple of patzers.

That game hardly shows best (or even particularly good) play on black's part. Rarely is handing out free pawns at move 8 a good idea.
"Passive" is hardly the right word for the french. I rather like the french defense, and I prefer to think of it as patient.
But I'd rather not argue.
