I am not sure why Korch decided to play this against Tebb but it will certainly be interesting. The opening does have some strategic merits (but not many I must admit) but its main benefit is you get you opponent out of book pretty damn quick.

Playing it against David_Tebb, I`m trying how successful this opening can be against at least equal (if not stronger) opponent.

Very impressive. In my wisdom, cough, im pretty sure that 1..g5 should be a draw with perfect play by both sides, its just it makes it a lot harder for black. It shouldnt be a weapon against high rated players, principle should get them through the surprise factor and lack of theory (which is an advantage to the black side i reckon, as if black plays this against a high rated opponent then he must have brushed up a bit, and the white player is not likely to have done this) though in CC this wont be so important.
Im tired and not altogether if what i just said makes sense or if i got my point across.. or if i have a point (more to the point) 😉

I've been playing the Borg myself, it's a fun opening. I wouldn't mind a rematch against you in another borg game whenever you are free.
