This game has been a bit quiet. There must be a storm coming.

I vote/try Bd2, we can't castle yet, Bd2 meets the threat and develops, I'll explain tommorow when I have more time...

can't do that.. queen takes b2 pawn the bishop is defending..
I voted Qc2 cos it bit like a sicilian move and supports e4 and also defends b2 pawn,

Edit: It will also be a good plan to try and double our rooks on open c-file if we get chance, we don't have the prob of minority attack to open the file like in sicilian. So can start directing attacks at chessmasters king 😀 instead.

We're still in the opening's development stage. The game is usually quiet. This is nothing unusual.

I say Qc2.

Reasons:
1. It's a very common move in nearly all sicilian systems
2. It defends the b pawn so we can safely develop our queen's bishop
3. It addresses the threat of e5 by a. unpinning the pawn and b. defending the e5 square again
4. It takes the queen off a file of an oppossing rook, which is usually a good idea
5. It will later help us in using the half-open c-file to our advantage. This is a common sicilian plan.

I don't believe that castling is a good idea because of e5. There's no pressing need to castle just yet. Our king's in no danger in the center.

Bd2 may or may not lose a pawn. I haven't looked at it fully. However, Qc2 is just a better way to do what Bd2 does.

10. Qc2 could be followed by 10. ... Nd4 11. Nxd4 exd4 and now 12. Na4 or Ne4

10. b4 followed by Be3 seems interesting.

10. b4 followed by Be3 seems interesting.

10. Bd2 Qxb2 at least wins him his pawn back, theres no reason to sacrifice a pawn when we don't need to.

10. b4 e4 at least gives it back our pawn or knight and creates all the problems everyone is worrying about.

10. Qc2 isn't a bad move but I don't see why we need it, lets just castle now and not worry about the e pawn yet.

10. ...e4 doesn't seem so threatening to me. 11. Ng5 e4xd3 12. e2xd3 doesn't leave us in a bad position and we could just move 11. Ne1 next turn if we castle now.

We have to castle sooner or later or be stuck in the middle, lets do it while we still can.

If we castle we're in big trouble. Like ark13 says there is no danger if we don't castle so thing is not to panic and think about our moves.

Ng5 isn't good move.. it can easilly be pushed away. with h6 and plus we're undeveloping a developed piece and also theres a bishop on e7 targetting g5. After h6 only square left is h3 "which suxs".

Qc2, averts danger of ...e4 and I can't see much wrong with it tbh. We will still be able to castle in the next move or two.
