Maybe Russ the Cow is joshing with us. Russ did something. Maybe what he did bugged a part of the server?

Hey, cheesecake. We've got a problem with your notation, and the FEN on the board.

Well, I think I was on too much beer when I suggest Bd2 late at night, maybe it's contagious?

Hmm...

After 10. Qc2 ... Nd4 (assuming this is the real move by CM), it seems that the board should look like:

EDIT:
In which case, I vote for 11. Nxd4

I do too. I'm guessing that chessmaster did play Nd4, though this doesn't seem like a very good move. It lets us isolate his pawn, expose our fianchettoed bishop, and develop our queen's bishop to f4 if we choose.

EDIT: I didn't notice Qxd4. I don't think it's a good move, but we will have to consider it. All of my above comments were made on the assumption that exd4 would follow.

Well, seeing that the board is so messed up, it's quite possible that Nd4 isn't CM's proper move. If cheesecake entered in the position we saw, then Nd4 is a good move, but in our REAL position, it seems not so good..

Which means cheesecake would have to change the position back to what it was before and let CM think an hour again to make a proper move. One botched move kinda ruins the whole experiment/point of the match...

CM could also play Rxd4. I wonder if the method of forcing a move after one hour produces a different result than would simply giving CM a time limit of one hour.

That's possible, it may want to do that unique/subtle kind of rook lifting technique, similar to that of the Ironman vs RHP match... I don't see the immediate threat mind you...

After 11. Nxd4 exd4, then say white plays 12.Ne4 afterwards, CM (Black) is looking to unleash the bishop at c8 either via 12...Bg4 or 12...Be6, then followed by 13...Rac8. It's a developmental and a tempo move at the same time.
