Survey. White vs Black - Your score?

Mine shows a very strong preference for black

46% on the dot based on my performance: 25-13-2 as White and 61-18-4 as Black (not counting my one unrated game)

100*0.65(0.75+0.65)= 46%

Of course I have played a TON more games as black at this point.

but I am clearly more comfortable defending and stiffling attacks than at creating my own.

50.4 surprised me - I always feel better as white but this suggests otherwise. Might have to normalise the data for strength of opposition to get a better read I suspect.

53.07% - I found this surprising too, always thought I did better as black, I definitely prefer playing as black. I think people playing white (myself included) are sometimes too eager to start an attack, but their pieces aren't ready for it, and then a good defence for black and counter-attack will win the game.

When I learned to play (against the computer), I only played white for some time and then started to play black from time to time, but when I joined TFC I had still played mostly white, and I still felt quite uncomfortable playing black. I don't think there's much difference anymore now, although I'll have to finish some more games to see whether that's true or not.

Score = 100* WS/(WS+BS)

where WS = (WW+WD/2)/WG and
BS = (BW+BD/2)/BG
BG, BW, BD are black games, wins and draws, and
WG, WW, WD are white games, win ...[text shortened]... the latter.

What is your score? And what does it tell you about your game, if anything?

My ratio:

100*0.877/(0.877+0.855)=49,5%

Don't excactly know what to think of it, though 🙄
