Survey. White vs Black - Your score?

I get 46.5%, but I don't know if this is representative, because I've played 28 as black and only 11 as white

I think that now i'm going to play a lot of games as white, just to get even

When I learned to play (against the computer), I only played white for some time and then started to play black from time to time, but when I joined TFC I had still played mostly white, and I still felt quite uncomfortable playing black. I don't think there's much difference anymore now, although I'll have to finish some more games to see whether that's true or not.

I always thought that black or white wouldn't make much difference to my game unless it was already a pretty close encounter. It would be interesting to see how these would look if we could limit it to games with players within certain rating ranges.

Which I think is quite a bit higher than it once was. I've done better as white of late.

In tournament play, perhaps the fairest representation as I'm playing the same opponents at the same time it is exactly 50% (I have the same record with both colours) and clan challenges is going to around 55% I think.

Considering only my Clan Challenge games at RHP, I get 54.52 by the formula.

i felt, for a long time, more interested in my black games ... and ended up changing my white opening to fit my black style ... i feel much happier now ... i would like to seee similar stats for my last 200 games.

now for algebra & arithmetic:

WS= (399+79/2)/(399+79+173) = 438.5/651 = .673579
BS= (425+93/2)/(425+93+196) = 471.5/714 = .660364

100*0.673579/(0.673579+.660364) = 50.495 = 50.5

Mine is 50.91.

I score 62% with White (268/429) & 61% with Black (362.5/595). 🙂
