For real corresponding squares junkies, this one's a corker. I first came across it over 35 years ago and once learnt to play it perfectly for both sides. (Yes, I know I should have got out more in those days...)

White to play, what result? And if it's black to play? Have fun folks!

Thanks Varenka! Now what did I do wrong...?

You had '1P7' for your 2nd rank rather than '1P6'. Easy mistake :-)

That's still wrong. The pawn should be on b2 not a2!

Disregard that last thread...think I'm really cracking up now...must be too late!

Yeah, I changed the '1P7' to be 'P7' and then realised you intended '1P6' ! 🙂 Now edited. I'm sure that together we can do this!!

Yes, you're right. I actually had '1P7' followed by '7K'. I suppose the king gets booted then!

Mystery solved. Will be interesting to see if anyone solves the problem (at least without silicon help)!

I'll take a crack at it. I've never used corresponding squares but I've heard about it and kind of realize how it works. It'll take me a while but I'll try. BTW, there is an edit button you can use to edit posts made in the last hour. That might help.

Thanks for that. Sorry I've made a bit of a mess of your thread. Will definitely use the Edit button in future!

Ok, I'm going to to do this in stages here so, If anyone wants to add anything or just solve it, go ahead.

From what I can tell, White can possibly invade blacks camp in two places, While Black cannot break into whites camp. The closest requires a pawn push on g5. Either black will take it or white will push it which will make black spend time taking while (hopefully) white has enough time to invade at the second point.

The second place white can invade on is through the squares d4 to c5. Now the corresponding squares thing is going to be a pain.
