I'm going to have to disagree and say that timeforchess.com is the best chess site around with chessatwork.com a close second. 😉

I like Queenalice.com
my rating there is inflated to 2000 at one time, and here is only 1500.
in Queenalice you can join tourny and play unlimited games for free.

There are definitely some good chess sites out there, but RHP definitely has the best features (quality of play, forums, etc.).

Now, let's get Arrakis in here... 😛

the three i play are RHP, chesshere, and queenalice, but queenalice has few members, and chesshere isn't as nice as RHP

TFC definitely the best. I also play on Schemingmind for other chess variations..such as Shatranj...Stanley...etc..

small site but friendly and good articles on chess and their variations..

I suspect anytime sometime asks what the "best" of something is, the answers are not going to be objective in the sense that there is an agreed upon procedure to decide what really is "best." Of course, you can have a best move in a chess position on occassion (like a "mate in one" of winning a Queen.)

What is your faviorte chess site?
I play on both The Immortal Game and Gameknott. Personally I find the rating is about the same ie: I'm crap at both sites :-) But then I play for fun. I will say one thing in defence of Gameknott, and that is people are very friendly and often chatter during games. Most people on here don't seem to want to talk to each other, that's fine and should be respected as it is easy to distract someone.

I find that people can be more 'bitchy' on here if they disagree with you. Instead of having a discussion, you are torn into like as though you have committed the ultimate sin - like driving at 1MPH over the speed limit. you are pulled apart on here and I have been banned on here twice (I believe) for voicing my opinion.

Just my views, and no doubt will be told to sod off back there if I like it so much... whereas all I'm trying to do is give a balanced view.
