Tinkering with the position a bit gives me:
Still far from ideal, as Popeye (a solving program) has found numerous "duals". For example, 1.Rb8 Re8 and now 2.Ne7 and 2.Bd4 both work. Of course, the original problem has these duals and more.

OMG!!!! This thread has grown to 5 pages!!! Sorry, i had no idea this position would create so much interest!!
As far as i can tell, no one is even close to solving this yet. 😀
Edit: Like i said at the beginning, it is easy to deliver mate, the difficulty is doing it in 3 moves! ANY SINGLE CHECK BY BLACK DELAYS MATE, so the solution denies any POISSIBLE check. 😉

(Of course, this is all hypothetical, right?)
Anyway, what stops you reading the thread?
i took another look at the problem and came up with this. 1. Ne5 Rh8 2.Nf3 ... 3. Qg2
How about this? I havent had time to read through the entire thread yet so i dont know if someone has said this or not. thats is my next priority. 😉
EDIT- sorry didnt see marinakatomb's post. that means mine doesnt work either :'(

1.Rb8!! (zugzwang)
Black's Rook doesn't dare leave the 8th rank, or 2.Rh8+ mates.
Nor can it stray too far from the center; on moves like 1...Rxb8 or 1...Rg8, White has 2.Qh3+ Kg1 3.Bd4#
The two main variations, therefore, are:
1...Re8 2.Ne7! and Black must allow either 3.Rh8# or 3.R ...[text shortened]... ack must allow either 3.Rh8# or 3.Rf1#.
Try: 1.Rc8? Rf8! 2.Rf5 Rf6!! and White has no mate.
AHHHAAAA, we have an engine user!! WELL DONE 😀😀
