What is V-day????
thanks...I thought you were after generic, *universally* acknowledged examples 😉 never heard of F and J examples before..

re: V-Day
n. A day of victory, as at the conclusion of a war.

widely used in Europe re: WWII, but it's generic

p.s.
V-neck entry for V is better though, more known than V-day would think..

it's a little obscure i guess, but M-Audio is a big name in digital music, particularly in interface devices - usually used for home/studio recording via firewire input.

in the case of WWII, in the US i've usually heard it described as V-E Day, and V-J Day for the victory in Europe vs. the victory in Japan... V-Day is also a common abbreviation for Valentine's Day, and the associated "Vagina Day": a women's rights awareness day usually accompanied by many regional performances of the Vagina Monologues.

all in all, V-Neck is much better, i agree! 🙂

In UK its VE-day and VJ-day.
Although the later is woefully ignored and most people think of VE-Day as the end of WWII
(I dont; my parents had family and friends in POW camps out East)
