To get another cryptogram I need to leave the site and come back again... there's undoubtedly a better way of doing this, but for now I'll be 'flying by the seat of my pants'.

I don't really understand all this stuff.I assume you're supposed to work out what other letter each letter represents but it's obviously not just moving along the alphabet line i.e a = f b= g c=h etc.
For the record this weeks word thing in my paper isn't really suitable for the site.It's English football.

I've been doing these for many years, so I've picked up a few ideas. This is worth a read:

I usually start with 1-letter and 3-letter words, then repeated letters in a word.

There are other clues to look for but Kewpie is the one to talk to about clues... I posted one I managed to solve (after many failed attempts) and she quicky solved it. I'm working on two cryptograms right now that I'm hav ...[text shortened]... what clues to look for.
I'm still a novice when it comes to knowing all the clues to look for.
