I want larger avatars as well, however, you will get the same arguments as when I asked for a larger size allowance.
loads of people whining about how it's not fair on the dial-up crowd etc...

I'm perfectly happy with the current avatar size.

Might be better to introduce an option that lets you choose how avatars are displayed. Something along the lines of:

Disabled | Small (50 x 50px) | Large (100 x 100px)

Absolutely! This would allow those of us who occasionally access the site using mobile devices to have better performance.

I'd rather not spend that much more time waiting for a page to load because of huge avatars.
