I've almost done this a couple of times, and my opponent just did it - hew put his thoughts on the game in the wrong one, revealing to me his plans for the game. It made me think that it would be better if these were separated a bit to prevent this being such an easy mistake to make. It does kind of kill the game when this happens.
You could leave Notes where it is and move message right to the bottom.
Has this happened to anyone else?

I think I need to concede that this is a serious problem that needs sorting out.
I have been dealing with feedback with one individual who complained that the messaging on the site was not working. After a few messages back and forth, I logged in as them, and, you guessed it, they had been trying to message their friend via the note book for the entire game.
