Apparently, some people have noticed that if they go back and remove a post from an old thread, the entire thread gets reposted in its associated forum. It's still marked as old, so no one can post, but it is still disconcerting to see these old threads popping up out of the mists.
Is there a way to prevent this in the code? Or would it be a difficult fix?
I'm surprised that once this got out, there were not tons of threads coming back. I mean people love to do things "just 'cause" they can.
It isn't people removing their own posts, it looks like the mods are reading through old threads and deleting some posts which has caused them to appear at the top of the page for some reason. Look at the 4 threads which bumped their way to the top of the general forum, they only thing they have in common is posts removed by a mod.
@russ saidAha. So we won't be seeing resurrected old threads any more?
@Suzianne
Finally got to the bottom of this. It shouldn't be a problem anymore - a bug introduced around the time that the forum update was introduced where forum posts were not removed outright from a thread.
That's just nothing less than awesome. Thank you, Russ.
@russ saidWe still have 5 old threads showing up on the 1rst page of the General Forum.
As awesome as that maybe, I can't celebrate, as I broke it in the first place. 😳

@very-rusty saidI think the general forum is definitely not politically correct.
