This one is simple, even for a simpleton. The one your church (your pastor, your minister, your congregation) judges as "wicked" is not always wicked.
wow Einstein, have you ever thought that perhaps the Bible indicates what constitutes what is wicked and what is not. oops I forgot, you don't do Bible, my bad.

Remove them from the congregation, that's how I read that. Where does it mention anything about 'shunning'?
"Shunning" *is* removing them from the congregation.

How can the article claim -

"No one should be forced to worship in a way that he finds unacceptable or be made to choose between his beliefs and his family."

And yet apostates are to be shunned and will more than likely have to choose between their beliefs and family.
its a quotation taken out of context, it could mean anything and as i have not read the entire article its hard for me to comment upon it. It could infact be someone who has become a witness like my friend Arshid Latif who was almost killed by his Muslim uncles.

It's not the site. It's a photocopy of the page in question from Awake.

Oh my. Do you really not read the Bible and see how the early congregation and the elders were set up by Jesus? Were those men who had to make the same kind of desicions also imperfect but yet were used by God and directed by Jesus?
If you only want perfect men to make certian desicions such as dfellowhipping then your going to have some serious problems are you not?

I do find it slightly ironic you're now cautious about a quote being taken out of context when that is all you've done throughout this thread.

Einstein, eh? Wow, reading non-comprehension FTL. You know, for someone spouting the WTO line (as well as which verses they say supports their questionable practices), you are abysmally unaware of what those verses actually say. Try reading it again. It says that God will judge those without, so you (the congregation supposedly, but more probably the local church leader) must remove the wicked within. This means they are doing the judging as to who is wicked, not God, not the Bible, but a man.

Oh, come on, Gman! Do you really think that the current church leaders are "used by God and directed by Jesus"? Seriously?

meaningless, empty and devoid, anyone reading your text is liable to pull the pockets from his jeans in despair, i doubt very much you have any idea of what you are talking about, in fact, its self evident. Have some crayons instead, draw a unicorn.
