At least its unpretentious and concise instead of endless reams of pretentious waffle.

Maybe he talks like that over a beer 🙂. Have a few more beers and you will understand what he is saying. Basically he is saying that some people claim to be Christians but they fail to do what it takes to be one. So in fact they are deluded.
Really? This is what an atheist was saying?

No, usually only Christians are so arrogant.

You're kind of missing the point too, Ron.

The Lord has promised me eternal life. Why would I not risk my own mortal life for this? Why throw away what has been promised to me in order to live a few more hours? That makes no sense.

doing it all for a reward (eternal life) is no reason to do anything. doing things purely because they are the right thing to do is the only good reason to do anything. are you in it for the prize

But you don't even have enough scraps of truth for yourselves, how can you have any left for your "friends"?

But being immortal now, which no one on earth is, and being promissed it at a later time are different. Thats all I'm saying, so not speaking about the rape part.

Ask me this again once we're in the thick of the Tribulation and the real Christian Holocaust starts. No one's got a gun to my head... yet.

Were the Jews "in it for the reward" during their Holocaust?

Really, G-man?

Are you immortal now?

"... which no one on earth is"... right, that's kind of the point, isn't it?

Our eyes should be on the Word of God, which is the way, the truth and the life, not the words of man, which are most often lies.

Well, when it means much the same to me as "... the sound of one hand clapping", why does it shock you? The relevance of the Word of God is so much more compelling to me than the words of man, no matter how much more "sense" they make to some people.

Here's something maybe you can relate to, maybe not. As I've said before, my Briggs-Myers type indicator includes an "F" for Feeling, not a "T" for Thinking. You can quote logic to me all day long and it has as much meaning to me as the ramblings of a two-year old. Try speaking to my Feeling side, not my Thinking side. I bet you can't do it as I imagine your type indicator probably contains a T, not an F. Understand?

But some of us choose to die with integrity and meaning, not with "lip service".
